SUIT FORD PX 1,2 & 3 RANGER, TERRITORY (diesel only) AND MAZDA BT50 WITH 6R80 6 SPEED TRANSMISSION WARNING! DO NOT TRY TO USE THE SOLID UNIT ( CHEAPER BYPASS OPTION ) SOLD ONLINE OR THE QUICK-FIX WELSH PLUG, AS IT WILL CAUSE THE CONVERTER TO DRAIN BACK AND LOSE GEARS AFTER THE VEHICLE SITS FOR A DAY OR OVERNIGHT. WORLD PATIENT: SUPERIOR SOLUTIONS PART NUMBER STL009, made in the USA APART FROM USING ONE OF OUR BOLT-ON TRANSMISSION COOLER KITS (IN-STORE UNDER COOLER KITS) THIS THERMAL BYPASS CONTROL VALVE IS A PERFECT UPGRADE FOR YOUR TRANSMISSION COOLING SYSTEM PERFECT FOR TOWING CONDITIONS COMES WITH FITTING INSTRUCTIONS The factory-designed valve has been shown in the real world experience that it is prone to becoming stuck in its bore in the closed position, blocking any cooler flow. The transmission temp fluid sensor will not signal until well past the danger point of 130. The valve generally becomes stuck due to contamination in the oil, due to worn bushings and torque converter problems. This commonly leads to a major transmission failure due to a no-lube condition To solve this problem, our friends at Superior Transmission Parts have developed a non-stick, full-time lube cooler valve, STL009 that can be fitted in the vehicle whilst servicing the valve body. Valve body removal is required Its installation will allow for correct instant oil checking even at cold temperatures without a warm-up cycle, saving on average 45 minutes and guarantees full-time cooler flow for greater transmission life and lower average temperature operating range, Thanks to a built-in high-pressure safety bypass valve in the cooler Lube circuit. Due to the full-time lube, the average operating temperatures are typically maintained around 70 °c – 90 °c even under working conditions. KEY BENEFITS : Full-time cooler flow with much lower average fluid temperature Built-in high-pressure safety bypass into the lube circuit Immediate and accurate fluid level checks without a warm-up cycle save tech time for rechecking. (45 min. average) Easy install, drop-in replacement…can be done in-car when servicing the valve body. The OEM wax pellet-style thermostatic flow control system defaults to a cooler flow OFF state. To switch to a cooler flow ON state, it requires a preheat cycle up to the boiling temperature of the water or higher. When it malfunctions (typically in the OFF state), cooler flow is bypassed, and the ATF and transmission are overheated. This affects the operation of the pump, valve body, and solenoids, as well as the operation of the sealing rings and clutch drums. The patented Sure-Cool systems default to a cooler flow ON state, which provides instant fill and air purge of the cooler and lines so that an accurate fluid level can be established during initial start-up after repair without a lengthy warm-up cycle. Installers do not need to handle a hot transmission. The default ON state will typically maintain a stable ATF operating temperature of around 160 degrees, even under working conditions. This extends fluid life, prevents a wide range of over-temp operating malfunctions, and helps the control system provide consistent shift and operation control. When the OEM thermostatic system is switched to a cooler flow ON state, if the radiator gets blocked or cooler lines get pinched, all lube flow is blocked, which results in a cascade failure to flow (needle bearings, bushings, and crashed planetaries). With the Sure-Cool system installed, if cooler flow gets blocked, it immediately bypasses directly into the lube circuits to maintain lube flow to the planets, avoiding total failure.
