Aside from using one of our bolt-on transmission cooler kits (available in-store under Cooler Kits), this thermal bypass control valve is a perfect upgrade for your transmission’s cooling system. Perfect for towing conditions. Comes with fitting instructions.  The factory-designed valve has been shown in real-world experience to be prone to becoming stuck in its bore in the closed position, blocking any cooler flow.The transmission temp fluid sensor will not signal until well past the danger point of 130 degrees.The valve generally becomes stuck due to contamination in the oil, due to worn bushings and torque converter problems. This commonly leads to a major transmission failure due to a no-lube condition To solve this problem, our friends at Superior Transmission Parts have developed a non-stick, full-time lube cooler valve STL009 that can be fitted in the vehicle whilst servicing the valve body. Valve body removal is required Its installation will allow for correct instant oil checking even at cold temperatures without a warm-up cycle, saving on average 45 minutes and guarantees full-time cooler flow for greater transmission life and lower average temperature operating range, Thanks to a built-in high-pressure safety bypass valve in the cooler lube circuit. Due to the full-time lube, the average operating temperatures are typically maintained around 70c – 90c even under working conditions.
